Samsung Sync A707 Drivers
Spent about 3 hours trying to find a suitable driver. To save you time, here it is: click. Download QXDM drivers (New)
Connect Mac OSX to a Samba 2 DD-WRT NAS External Hard Drive Share
So I have an ASUS 520GU, upgraded firmware to DDWRT. Installed a samba client to add USB drive support. Connected it/set it up all up. I noticed that Windows can see the drive perfectly, but Mac OSX had trouble. Everytime I try to connect to it ("Connect to Server" -> 192.168.x.x), no matter what username or password I put in, it won't go through. Luckily I found this fix:
edit smb.conf
change encypt passwords = no to yes
took 5 hours to figure out. but IT WORKS! now I can run time machine to back my computer up wirelessly.
CakePHP project

This is a project my group was working on for a competition on campus. The project used CakePHP as the web framework. Through developing this project, I've learned the concept of the MVC architecture which is very important in modularizing your web projects. We came in third place in the web applications development category after two weeks of development.
Cakephp gmail smtp
Use swiftmailer. Cakephp doesn't support ssl/tls out of the box. Took me a few hours to notice this.
iPhone OS 4 8gb 3rd gen vs. 8gb 2nd gen.
Steve says iPod touch 3rd gens are getting multitasking support, not 2nd gen. So since Apple considers the latest 8gb iPod touch a 3rd gen, why aren't the 2nd gen 8gb iPods getting multitasking? Same hardware aren't they? Kind of ridiculous.
Update Looks like watching through the video, Steve specifically said 32GB and 64GB models. 8GB 3rd gen will not get the multitasking support.
iPhone 4.0 = multitasking?
It's rumored to finally have multitasking support. The way I believe on how this is going to be implemented is, all apps will shrink to a "Widget"-like state when the application is switched. Meaning, Apple will place a limit such as 8mb memory allowance for background services to occur for a specific application. Then we'll have slots of 8mb blocks. For example, if you are running AOL instant messenger, the moment you switch tasks, your AIM app run in a "minimal" state perhaps occupying 5mb of data. When you switch back, your gui will be re-loaded with information acquired during the minimal state. This gives apple a new marketing scheme to get consumers to buy the absolute best iPhone there is on the market (future generations of the iPhone will have different RAM sizes for holding amount of background applications). For example, the next new 16gb iPhone will have enough memory to hold 5 background apps, while the 32/64 will feature a larger RAM allowing up to 10-15 apps to run in the background.
Viliv N5 release date
Was interested in the Viliv N5 UMPC. Didn't see a release date anywhere so I e-mailed them and got this reply:
Dear Chan
Thank you for your interest in viliv.
N5 would be available through the end of April.
Best regards,
viliv
“Komoplode”
I absolutely love "Love2D" (no pun intended). This whole project was done in under 24 hours! Simplistic engine and a simplistic game. Check it.
