Public computers with keyloggers. My new idea/solution.
The problem:
Keyloggers on public computers are bad. There's software keyloggers and hardware keyloggers (the little adapter hooked onto the keyboard cord). They'll steal your logins, change your password, and delete everything. Well... how about invent a new login type? 1 Read-only password and 1 master password. Read only allows you to read and add things, not delete items or change settings. For example, you can read your e-mails, compose new messages (which will then save in your sent messages log), add new contacts, and etc... You can also take it a step further and set certain sensitive e-mails to require a master password. You know those e-mails that have your social security numbers that you'll definitely not view on a public computer?
Take it another step further and have daily new read-only passwords delivered to your phone. Even if you lose your phone, you can always login with your master password. Losing your phone and using a keylogger-public computer in the same day is highly unlikely.
